Matthew Perchemlides, ND, MS, RN, Licensed Naturopathic Doctor
“As a licensed Naturopathic
Physician I am trained to attend to all body systems and their interactions at all levels of care. Naturopathic medical care
involves more than just the identification of disease and the management of symptoms; it involves locating and targeting the
source of an ailment through a comprehensive and evidence-based integrative approach so the patient has the best chance of
making a full recovery without harmful
and toxic treatments. Being a licensed Naturopathic Physician means providing each patient with the same standards of safety
and ethics, while varying my approach from patient to patient as much as one individual may vary from another.” -- Dr. Matthew Perchemlides
Dr. Matthew Perchemlides (Dr.
"Perch"), a licensed Naturopathic Physician, completed his training at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM), a four-year CNME accredited Naturopathic Medical School, where he graduated first in his class. While at UBCNM, Dr. Perch also completed
a Masters Degree in Human Nutrition, was the first Naturopathic student nationally to complete an acute care medical rotation in a hospital-based setting, assisted
in two major research projects examining endothelial cell function at the Yale-Griffin Integrative Medical Center, completed a full training in craniosacral therapy, and was accepted into a nationally recognized and CNME certified residency
program. Before pursuing Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Perch earned a degree in nursing from Boston College Connell School of
Nursing and, while there, traveled to Cuba to research healthcare policy with an emphasis in Pediatric asthma. In addition to his Naturopathic
medical experience, Dr. Perchemlides has six years worth of experience as a registered nurse, having worked at four different
nationally recognized hospitals in Colorado and Connecticut. In his nursing career, Dr. Perch worked on twenty-eight different
medical floors, including pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, trauma burn care, and step-down intensive care, all areas in
which he has received advanced training. It was during his career as a nurse when Dr. Perch first began exploring Naturopathic
Medicine. “Though I enjoyed helping my patients feel better in the hospital,
I felt that conventional medicine placed too many limits on my ability to truly help my patients heal permanently. I wanted
to give my patients more options for care, options that would help them with both healing and prevention. I found that Naturopathic
Medicine complemented my training in conventional medicine, allowing me to vastly expand my offerings to my patients.” Dr. Perchemlides' research credits
include his doctoral thesis entitled Research-based Application of CoEnzyme Q10 in Naturopathic Oncology, which has
recently been accepted for publication in a medical textbook. Additionally, Dr. Perch is the co-author and co-presenter
of a presentation entitled The Pediatric Vaccination Schedule: A Discussion About Concerns Surrounding Childhood Vaccinations,
completed and presented with Dr. Shawn Carney of Northeast Natural Medicine. Dr Perch also co-authored oncology treatment guidelines for Physicians at Yale-Griffin Integrative Medicine Center. Dr. Perch also belongs to several professional organizations,
including the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Oklahoma Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Society of Integrative Oncology, and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Perchemlides lives with his wife in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they enjoy living a "naturopathic lifestyle," practicing daily the healthy lifestyle that Dr. Perch helps
his patients achieve.
